Strategic Planning

Council's strategic planning team is responsible for land use and development planning, transport planning, heritage planning and review and monitoring of the Banyule Planning Scheme.

The key tasks and responsibilities of the strategic planning team are to:

  • develop, monitor and review land use and development strategies, policies and guidelines for Banyule and advise the community on matters relating to planning for land use and development, including demographic information;
  • plan for a safe, effective and integrated transport system for Banyule and advise the community on matters relating to transport planning;
  • plan for the protection and enhancement of heritage places within Banyule and provide advice on strategic planning relating to heritage matters; and
  • monitor and review the Banyule Planning Scheme, including amendments to the scheme.
