The Yarra Plenty Regional Library provides a public library service to Banyule City through a network of eight libraries plus a mobile library service.

Library membership is free and open to everyone, however you will need to provide proof of your name and address when joining. Under 18's will need the signature of a parent or guardian.

As a member, you can use all of the libraries as well as the mobile library service.

You can borrow the following resources from any of our libraries: books and magazines in English and other languages large print books videos, DVDs, multimedia and music CD's, picture books for children, talking books, books and kits for learning English and other languages.

Other resources which can be used at the library include: reference collections, newspapers, photocopiers, microfiche/film readers, local history collections, CD ROM databases and computers with access to the Internet and wordprocessing.

Other activities include pre-school and toddler story time, school holiday activities and adult programs at all libraries.

Renew Online

Did you know you can renew your library items at any time of the day or night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

Just log on to our website at http://www.yprl.vic.gov.au and select user services. Follow the prompts from there, it's simple!  You'll notice that you can also check what you have out on your card, search the catalogue and place holds. All from the comfort of your own home! It couldn't be easier.

If you give us your email address we can also remind you to renew your items before they become overdue and you'll be notified the minute your reservation becomes available. You need never have an overdue fine again!

We'll also send you our monthly newsletter to keep you up to date with what's happening at your local library.

Telephone Renewal

Did you know you can renew books and other library items over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

The library renewals number is 9401 0777.

Using the system is simple, just follow the prompts to enter your  library card number and renew your desired items.

The number will provide you with the option to speak to a staff member during business hours if you have difficulty with the system or prefer to deal with a library representative.
